At BIME, we know everything about music and more. In this case, we have teamed up with the marketing sector to spark conversations about the longstanding relationship between brands and music.
This proposal aims to offer BIME attendees a full day dedicated to exploring the relationship between music and brands. The section "Music and Brands: Strategic Harmony" will provide valuable insights on how brands can effectively use music in their marketing strategy, whether through their own projects or sponsorships.
The conferences and panels will showcase case studies of successful collaborations between brands and artists, and discuss current trends in the use of music in marketing. Additionally, interactive workshops will allow participants to learn how to build a solid music strategy for their brand, as well as discover new opportunities for music sponsorships.
With this proposal, BIME will expand its reach and offer an enriching space for music industry professionals, record labels, music streaming companies, intellectual property rights organizations, promoters, live music companies, and ticketing platforms to connect with brands and explore new forms of collaboration in the field of music and marketing.

RELIVE THE FIRST EDITION OF "MUSIC AND BRANDS: STRATEGIC HARMONY"
This new segment gave attendees a full day immersed in the intersection between music and brands.
From inspiring conferences to in-depth panels, we explored how brands can weave music into the fabric of their marketing strategies. The sessions provided practical examples of successful collaborations, unraveled the latest trends in the use of music in marketing, and offered interactive workshops to build solid music strategies.
The response was overwhelming, with music industry professionals, record labels, streaming platforms, and live event companies connecting with brands in a fruitful dialogue about the powerful role of music in branding.

Music Equality Forum (MEF) arose from the need to combat gender inequalities in the music industry. MEF is possible thanks to the union created between BIME and various organizations fighting for a fairer industry that guarantees equal participation with free and equal access to resources, recognition, and decision-making.
2017
We started working with Asociación MIM (Women of the Music Industry) to develop a gender equality-focused program
2018
We committed to Keychange, a global network and movement working for a complete restructuring of the music industry to achieve full gender equality
2019
We gave greater recognition and visibility to women and LGBTQ people in our BIME Pro program
2020
We increased collaborations with organizations focused on women and LGBTQ people
2021
We created the Music Equality Forum (MEF) space
2022
We continued forging key alliances and raising awareness of the gender inequality that exists in the music industry
2023
We published the results of the "HACKING THE GENDER GAP" working group held in Barcelona, Bilbao, Buenos Aires, and Bogotá in collaboration with FEMNOISE.
2024 Objective: To promote gender and racial equality in the music industry, ensuring fair opportunities, eliminating stereotypes, and creating a safe and diverse environment that celebrates talent regardless of gender or race. We are working to eliminate systemic barriers.
86% of women in the Music Industry claim to have encountered a barrier when being hired (Asociación MIM, 2022). This year, for the first time in history, a trans woman was nominated for the Premio Lo Nuestro in the Female Artist category (LATV, 2023). In the last 10 years, only 13.6% of the GRAMMY nominations have been for women (Inclusion In The Recording Studio?, 2022). "In Latin America, only 15% of record labels are owned by women" (Linda Criollo, 2021). "Although the origin of music is unquestionably African, in mainstream music, the majority of artists are not Afro-descendants" (Edna Liliana Valencia, 2023).

With nearly a hundred organizations and initiatives in our directory, we seek to boost the growth of women and the LGBTQ community in music. We prioritize strategic alliances, using the directory as a key connection tool. Our goals include fostering collaborations, offering development opportunities, and creating a positive change in the industry by promoting inclusion and diversity. You can download the Directory of Women and/or LGBTQ Organizations using the button below.

With the support of the European Union's Creative Europe Program, BIME has been part of the Keychange project since 2018, a global network and movement working for a complete restructuring of the music industry to achieve full gender equality.
In 2022, we decided it was necessary to reward all initiatives that work towards gender equality in the music industry.
Thus, we created the Ibero-American BIME Equity Awards in collaboration with Amazon Music.
In 2023, we will celebrate the second edition of the awards, and the winning initiatives donated their prizes to the project they chose.
In collaboration with The Guild of Music Supervisors, BIME brings us closer to the music supervision community. As part of its program, BIME Pro includes a series of talks focused on this sector, which delves into music synchronization across various media and digital platforms such as film, television, and advertising.
A music supervisor is a qualified professional who oversees all aspects related to music in film, television, advertising, video games, and any other existing or emerging visual media platforms, as needed.

In collaboration with the music platform DISCO, 12 selected artists present their song to be discussed by a panel of world-renowned music supervisors.
Grammy-winning music producer George Drakoulias has dedicated over 35 years of his life to music. From his early days in hip hop at Def Jam to last year’s musical hit *Barbie*, Drakoulias has left a cultural mark with his unique musical signature. He has produced more than two dozen albums, including works with The Black Crowes and Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, and has supervised over fifty films and TV shows, including *The Hangover* trilogy, *The Batman*, *Joker*, *Zoolander*, and *Severance*.
Promote the art of music supervision for the mutual benefit of all stakeholders in media including film, television, games, advertising, trailers, and emerging media.
Provide an environment where the knowledge, resources, and specific skills of music supervision are expanded and shared as a means to uphold the highest level of professionalism and develop collective expertise.High-level practical training led by major companies and top international professionals from the music industry.

In its commitment to working for the development and promotion of a strong cultural and creative ecosystem, BIME presents in this edition a wide range of activities in collaboration with local, national, and international cultural initiatives, which will connect music with different artistic disciplines from October 24 to November 2.
Among them, a portrait photography workshop with professional Jon Rodriguez in collaboration with Basquedock; a DJ workshop in collaboration with Dabadaba; screenings of "After" by Anthony Lapia and "Climax" by director Gaspar Noé, in collaboration with Filmin; presentation of the book "Puto Boomer" by Roberto Moso; or the first edition of the artisans fair BIME Luthier Show. In addition, different cultural initiatives in the city join forces with BIME Live such as the International Record Fair, or the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum ART&MUSIC series sponsored by Kutxabank with Catalan artist Rita Payés.
Kafe Antzokia will host the tribute concert for Fermín Muguruza's 40-year career. A unique and unrepeatable event where Hofe x 4:40, Nakar, and Verde Prato will reinterpret iconic pieces by artist Fermin Muguruza - from Kortatu to the present, including Negu Gorriak - as a tribute to an icon of Basque Radical Rock who has permeated our culture and influenced contemporary Euskaldun sound. Three artists who represent the effervescence of the local scene, for whom the figure of the Irun native is vital, will pay tribute to him on the stage of Kafe Antzokia in Bilbao. In collaboration with Izar&Star.
Time: 9:30 PM / Doors open: 9:00 PM
An intimate performance under candlelight in a special place like The Church of the Incarnation that will allow you to enjoy a tribute to the compositions of Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi in a completely new way.
Time: 6:30 PM
Stereorocks Club, in collaboration with BIME, schedules a new date to discover the main collectives, DJs, and/or electronic music producers from the Basque Country (BAC and Navarra), who, selected through an open call, will be part of the lineup for this new session.
The iconic Atrium of the Museum hosts a new edition of the ART & MUSIC program with a concert by Rita Payés. Attendees will be able to enjoy the Museum's exhibitions before the performance of the Catalan artist, an expert in the fusion of emotion and musical roots.
