Vicent Argudo (Alcoy, 1979) holds a degree in Journalism from Cardenal Herrera CEU University in Valencia, a Master’s degree in Radio Business Management and Administration from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and was a fellow of the Sulzberger Executive Leadership Program at Columbia University in New York.
He began his career in local journalism, working for Radio Alcoy-Cadena SER. In 2004, he co-founded Spain’s first online music radio station, scannerFM. This indie music radio station was awarded an Ondas Award in 2005 for Best News Coverage for its coverage of the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona.
From 2006 to 2015, he was Chief Digital Officer at PRISA Radio Spain, where he led the digital strategy for music media outlets such as los40.com. In 2008, he led a major relaunch of the website, offering a catalogue of more than four million songs, nearly 10,000 music videos and one of the first social networks in Spain. Years later, with the emergence of new platforms, he led the adoption of social media as a natural channel for communication between radio stations and their listeners and created the first mobile apps for PRISA’s music radio stations.
In 2015, he became Transformation Manager at Peru’s Grupo RPP, the country’s leading radio group, where he implemented digital development strategies in the music division and created the country’s first music awards ceremony, Premios La Zona. In 2018, he returned to Spain to lead Cadena SER’s music radio stations and, that same year, also took on the digital leadership of PRISA Radio, a position he held until 2021.
