Daymé Arocena
, Artist
Daymé Arocena is a Grammy-nominated, Juno-winning Afro-Cuban singer, songwriter and choir director. Trusting his instinct and intuition is how Arocena has led his career since he burst onto the international scene with “”Nueva Era””, his prodigious debut album, in 2015. In 2021, she became the youngest Latin American musician to complete Berklee College of Music’s Signature Artist program, joining the ranks of legends who have influenced aspiring musicians at that prestigious institution.
Now, she has reinvented her sound with her upcoming album “”Alkemi””, scheduled for release on February 23, 2024, fusing neo-soul singing, Afro-Caribbean rhythms and modern pop. Collaborating with renowned producer Eduardo Cabra, Vicente García as special guest on “A Fuego Lento” and Rafa Pabön on “Suave y Pegao”, the album incorporates diverse influences ranging from jazz to urban styles, challenging the conventions of Latin pop.
