27-10-2023 10:30 : 11:30From environmental awareness to action: education and industry allied for systemic change
How are both music schools and the professional music sector acting towards a common goal of environmental sustainability and what roles can each play? The music industry is facing increasing pressure to embrace greener and more responsible practices and, for their part, music education institutions have a responsibility to integrate this new dimension into their curricula.
With the innovative “Green Music & Entrepreneurship” program, the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, a high-performance music education center, offers its students the opportunity to approach environmental challenges with a methodology based on three pillars: awareness, training and real projects for action. For its part, Harrison Parrott, a prestigious international artistic representation agency, has been a pioneer in adopting a sustainability strategy, both to reduce its own carbon footprint and to accompany the artists it represents in their environmental commitment. We will share the perspectives of both entities in order to reflect on the systemic change that is occurring in the sector.
