Andrea Tacchi
Liuteria Andrea Tacchi, Guitar Maker
Born in 1956 in Florence, Italy, after deciding against engineering studies, in 1976 Tacchi chose to become a guitar maker. His first Maestro was the unforgettable Argentinian Ricardo Branè who transmitted to him the passion for an analytical approach. After Branè’s premature death, beginning in 1982 he started to go often to Paris to meet Robert Bouchet and Daniel Friederich receiving from them a rigorosi and at the same time artistic approach to making instruments. To date, Andrea Tacchi has made 450 guitars, part replicas of historical instruments, part tangible realization of his own ideas, with a contemporary guitar named Coclea. He lives and works in Florence.
