Gustavo Lopez
Street Mob Records/Globalatino Music Partners, President - Street Mob Records/CEO-Founder Globalatino Music Partners
Proven entertainment executive with over 30+ years in the music industry specializing in the Latin sector, is currently the President of Street Mob Records and CEO/Founder of Globalatino Music Partners.
At the young age of 21, Lopez started his major music firm career at Universal Music. Lopez took the company from zero to a staggering 50% Latin market share; he grew the business by fostering independent artists and catapulting them to the forefront of consumers and retail through the power of the world’s biggest music company, Universal.
After leading Universal Latin to the top, his own label was created, the now-legendary Machete Music—where Lopez laid the groundwork for the urban and Latin boom. Fostering talents such as Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Wisin & Yandel, Luny Tunes, and Héctor El Father, among others,
In 2008, Lopez led the charge in Universal’s acquisition of the Univision Music Group, where he became President of Fonovisa Records and Disa Records—two of the top Regional Mexican music labels in the world and home to artists such as Los Tigres Del Norte, Marco Antonio Solis, Jenni Rivera, Banda El Recodo, and Los Angeles Azules, to name a few.
Following a 21-year run with Universal, Lopez left to establish Talento Uno Music. After a short 18-month period, billionaire, philanthropist, and entertainment mogul Haim Saban acquired the company and chose Lopez to launch Saban Music Group, a Los Angeles-based global entertainment company.
After a 5-year tenure with Saban Music Group and sale to Universal Music, Gustavo launched Globalatino Music Partners, a multifaceted music centric firm super-serving artist, songwriters, producers, live music, brands through strategic marketing and key alliances. In 2025, Street Mob Records named Gustavo Lopez as president. Street Mob Records is the home of Mexican music phenomenon JOP and Fuerza Regida, and the label and publishing unit encompassing 30 plus Latin music creators.
Lopez has been a 10-time recipient of Billboard’s Power Players and was honored by Creative Community for Peace in 2023.
