
Ana María Castillo

Ana María Castillo is a Chilean journalist with a PhD in Communication and Journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She is a researcher and lecturer at FCCOM, where she leads UIC Barcelona’s participation in the HEMISPHERES Project on AI regulation in Latin America and Europe. She is a Faculty Associate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University. She co-directs the Artificial Intelligence and Society Nucleus at the University of Chile. She has participated as a researcher in global projects such as GenZAI: Thinking the present, creating the future, funded by the Japan Science and Technology Agency and HABLATAM, on youth and practices with technologies in Latin America, funded by the Uruguayan research agency. Her work is situated at the intersection between technology, social challenges and media narratives, with a focus on the dialogue between Latin America and Europe.
