STICH
Steven Dagenais Narvaez, also known by the stage name Stich : Stiiich, is an Ecuadorian-Canadian composer, sound designer, multimedia producer, DJ, cultural strategist and creative director, born in Quito (Ecuador) and currently based in Tio’Tia:Ke/Montreal (Quebec). Working at the heart of technology, audiovisual art and environmental practices, Stich’s works are multilayered, multidisciplinary and intersectional. They range from sound design, sound art exhibitions, creating soundtracks for films, to Latin American folk songs and, lately, experimenting with the sounds of the Global Bass Club, which has given him a strong presence in Montreal’s underground electronic music scene. Steven has over a decade of experience working with international music and digital art festivals, creative studios, agencies and production companies as a cultural strategist and critical thinker. His musical work is closer to contemporary art than to a fixed musical genre, always highly curated through a political, social and environmental lens. Stich’s work has been featured on world-renowned platforms such as MUTEK Montréal, MUTEK Barcelona, Piknic Electronik, Iceland Airwaves, Rinse France and The LOT Radio.
