Monte, born in 2019, is a group that aspires to the synthesis of African music, Afro-Latin music, psychedelia and rock. With a sextet format, Monte builds music for dance and trance that makes extensive, free and curious use of Afrodiasporic rhythms, psychedelic music textures and the lyrics of mystical poetry and religious languages. His work is influenced by artists such as Edson Velandia, Bombino, Fela Kuti, Los Mirlos and Joe Arroyo. His proposal sings of the sublime, the immanent and mystery; his lyrics speak of life and death, history and memory, horror and beauty. To date, Monte has produced three recording projects and two audiovisual projects.
