Martox
Martox is a Dominican musical duo that has been gaining ground in the music scene in the Dominican Republic and Latin America, thanks to their fusion of genres such as jazz, R&B, pop and electronic music. Comprised of vocalist Juan Miguel Martinez and producer Eduardo Baldera, the group has captured the attention of audiences with their unique chemistry and sensual lyrics.
Since their inception about five years ago, when they began uploading covers on SoundCloud, Martox has experienced significant growth. Their cover of Juan Luis Guerra’s classic “”“‘Amapola’”“” in 2019 provided a crucial boost, as it was shared by Guerra himself, helping them reach over 275,000 plays on Spotify. Their first EP, “”“”Canciones Que Puedes Usar En Mi Contra“”“”, solidified their presence in the industry, showcasing a contemporary style with soul and R&B influences.
In 2020, they released singles such as “”“”Debajo Del Sol“”“” and “”“”Verano Pasajero“”“” closing the year with “‘’”Sin Rodeos“”“”. In early 2021, their song “Un Bolero” became their most popular song, accumulating more than 13 million plays. In November 2022, they presented their second EP, “Se siente diferente”, exploring more electronic sounds.
The year 2023 was crucial for Martox, as they stood out at the Isle Of Light festival and consolidated themselves as one of the most relevant acts in the independent music scene. At the end of that year, they released the EP “Baila!”, which incorporates influences from funk, disco and electronic music.
In May 2024, Martox made their first trip to Mexico, where they performed live and over the summer released “Qué bien te queda el caribe”, an EP celebrating tropical rhythms and collaborations with artists from the local Dominican scene. With each release, Martox continues to expand their sound and win hearts in Latin music.
