LARA91K
Lara91k is the gem of all the jewels of the new century of Argentine music. Even before the rise of trap, Lara had created a singular profile that, starting from the skate punk of her adolescence, put her at the forefront of a music to decode the present. Already in their first recordings, the dynamics and textures of their songs anticipated the emergence of an original voice and sensuality, marking an alternative direction in the local scene.
Intimate and indocile singer-songwriter, as well as composer and producer, Lara91k opened her own path in the urban scene with a collection of singles released since 2015, the LP Como antes (2022) and two mixtapes (romance and ROMANCE 2, from 2021 and 2023), plus a series of collaborations with the main referents of the new Argentine music.
Far from the clichés of the genre, her work can be read as an intimate diary, with its confessions and crises, and an exploration of contemporary music and modes of production, from avant-garde hiphop, R&B and autotune balladry to reggaeton and bedroom pop.
Lara Artesi grew up in Pinamar, on Argentina’s melancholic Atlantic Coast. In her family home, music was a common language, a way of communicating that Lara adopted early on, when she learned to play the piano and guitar, among other instruments. His self-taught training was framed in the skate-punk culture of his adolescence, within the small wooded community and the sea.
After an extensive series of simples, the confessional self-portrait As Before (2022) established Lara91k as an artist of reference for her contemporaries and subsequent generations. With queer eroticism, late night dancehall, dark trip hop and cathartic pop punk, the work appeared in all the best albums of the year lists and confirmed that Lara’s music exceeds any genre.
Lara91k has performed at the main stages and festivals in Argentina, and has collaborated with artists such as Duki, Cazzu, Santiago Motorizado, YSY A, Paco Amoroso and Bhavi, among others. Her songs took her on tour to Spain, Germany, Mexico, Uruguay and Chile. While his expressive concerns expand to plastic art, audiovisual -directing some of his videoclips-, literature and his crossovers, he continues to explore the forms of contemporary Latin song in new singles such as 100PRE and Conexión.
