FLOSS
“Praised by VOGUE as “one of the most exciting artists in GSA,” FLOSS champions her vision of an equal world through Feminist Fantasy Pop. Born in Braunschweig, Germany, she took her first musical steps with jazz piano and dance classes before escaping the small town. Her journey to Berlin included stops in London, Los Angeles, and Paris, where she worked as a designer for legends Jeremy Scott and JC/DC. It was JC de Castelbajac who sparked her love for 80s music and encouraged her to become a performer.
Influenced by her fashion background and icons like Peaches, Robyn and Katy Perry, her songwriting process resembles mood boards weaving colorful contrasts of concepts and sounds. As the creative director of her synth-heavy pop vision, FLOSS’ debut EP, “6 FL.OZ.” (2021), was followed by “Feminist Fantasy Fiction”, “Replica Of My Heart”, and “EGO DEATH”, earning her the title “Lollapalooza Newcomer” and an ever-growing fan base.
Today, it’s no surprise that Katy Perry saw a younger version of herself in FLOSS over a decade ago. FLOSS has created a world of “surreal pop maximalism with feminist spikes that we desperately need” (Berliner Zeitung). The independent artist’s music is featured on international Spotify playlists (Radar Global, GLOW), her most streamed song, “I Will Eat Your God,” turns followers into fans worldwide and her “extremely pink, punk, and very, very playful” (The Berliner) live shows have captivated audiences at Lollapalooza and Fusion Festival.
