Ezpalak
EZPALAK presents their fourth album, entitled Gatza; the first self-released on their own label, Patana Records. Their new work was being created since the beginning of the year, between concerts of their extensive tour of their previous work, Hotz Aina Hots. “We were making demos and coming up with ideas. At first it was going to be a short EP, but we saw that we had many songs that we liked and we decided to make an LP”, explains the band from Zestoa (Gipuzkoa).
GATZA defines Ezpalak well, because “it gathers everything we have done so far; it has a lot of riffs, mountains of fuzz, synthesizers, more atmospheric and ambient songs, but also very dirty and dirty ones. It is a balanced album between the two worlds in which we move”, they assure.
This fourth album of their career has been recorded, mixed and mastered in April 2024 at Gaztain Estudioak (Zestoa) by Eñaut Gaztañaga, member of Ezpalak. The spectacular cover is the work of Julia Urreaga Aizarna.
This release is preceded by the live album Lagunekin Zuzenean (2023), a double album that brings together the sessions Baserrian Zuzenean and Lokalean Zuzenean. This project was born when EZPALAK decided to get together with some musician friends to turn around their album Hortz Aina Hots (2022). In the session Lokalean Zuzenean, the band from Guipuzcoa goes to their rehearsal rooms to play live seven songs from Hortz Aina Hots together with Xabier Bilbao (TOC), Cris Lizarraga and Lore Nekane Billelabeitia (Belako), Gorka Urbizu (Berri Txarrak), Joseba B. Lenoir, Miren Narbaiza (Mice), Ane Barcena (Pinpilinpussies), Jurgi Ekiza (Willis Drummond) and the entire RODEO band.
