In recent years, UNESCO has declared Culture a global public good and has emphasized the need to place it at the heart of public policies due to its intrinsic social function. At the same time, part of the private sector and the investment world is undergoing a paradigm shift, seeking to contribute to solving the current social and environmental challenges faced by the world by creating business models within the impact economy.

Due to its nature and inherent capacity for impact, culture is an ideal sector to attract funding from impact investors.

This panel, based on the presentation of the report “Innovation in the Cultural Financing Model in Spain: The Impact Economy,” developed by Fundación Gabeiras, will discuss the opportunities, challenges, and difficulties of adapting the cultural sector to the impact economy—and vice versa.
