Lina María Gaviria

Graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX in 1997 with a BFA in Dance Performance and a minor in Art History. She danced professionally with the L ‘Explose Foundation for 12 years and has belonged to dance companies such as Danzaconcierto and Maureen Fleming Dance Company among others. She co-founded and co-directed the dance company Corporación ARTIFICE DANZA where she worked as choreographer, dancer and producer.
She carried out the general production of the Micsur Cultural Market in 2016, as well as the general production of the University Festival of Contemporary Dance of the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in 2016 and in 2022.

She has served as Deputy Director of Cultural Facilities, Dance Manager, advisor and coordinator of the Casona de la Danza at the Instituto Distrital de las Artes IDARTES in Bogota, from 2011 to 2019. During the Dance Management at IDARTES she directed the Festival Danza en la Ciudad 2013 – 2015, the city’s annual dance festival. She was also the executive producer for this festival from 2011 to 2012. She was Secretary of Culture of Medellín in 2020 and was the Director of Teatro El Tesoro in Medellín from 2022 to 2024. She is currently the Deputy Director of the Arts at IDARTES where she is in charge, among other things, of leading the 9 Festivals to the Park in Bogota.
