It’s been four years since the release of Cada vez cadáver, the most recent album by Fito & Fitipaldis. That record came with a historic tour, but… what happened next?
An apparent pause. Yet, a quick search for “Fito & Fitipaldis” online and a look at the news section is enough to see that activity has resumed: “New album and tour in 2025?”, “Fito already working on new songs with the Fitipaldis in Madrid”, “Fito’s return to the stage”, “What we know about the band’s upcoming studio album”, “Aullidos Tour announced”… And, as a teaser, a message from Fito himself on social media: “Something’s moving.”
Years go by, and Fito Cabrales remains on top — but not as a distant star; he’s that guy at the bar who knows everyone. In a landscape where few maintain such an intergenerational connection, Fito endures with songs that keep selling out shows and, without trying to, end up defining their era.
Without marketing strategies or algorithms, he records as someone who writes in his black-covered notebook — because he doesn’t know how to live without doing so. Fito doesn’t make albums by contract or on schedule; he makes them when there’s something to tell. And in El Monte de los Aullidos, he’s told his story.
