Teo Planell

The tension between the modern and the ancient never truly existed. We are filled with history whether we like it or not — you just need to unravel a few threads to see it. Teo Planell knows the ins and outs of this open secret, and to sound like 2025, he’s gathered melodies, arrangements, and tricks from across the ages — like Houdini studying ancient alchemists to astonish the world or die trying.

Demian, much like the Hermann Hesse novel that inspired it, is a coming-of-age record. It speaks of learning how to live, of the beginning of a new world after the first great love. Something breaks, and amidst that intensity, one begins to understand what each fragment means and puts them back together. A new self emerges. Demian might be the most hopeful breakup album of its generation — a record about finding oneself at the far edges of love.
