This conversation explores contemporary forms of cultural exchange, from Chanela Clicka’s fusion of flamenco and regional Mexican music to Restinga’s incorporation of Moroccan influences following her own migration experience. We will look at how migration, moving between territories and exposure to different cultures can give rise to new forms of creativity, identity and belonging, understanding music not as a boundary between cultures, but as a space where they meet, engage and transform one another.
