La Maria is the revolution of Valencian singing.
Her accolades speak for themselves, including the Ovidi Awards and the Carles Santos Awards. Now, “La Mentida”, the song she created for Óscar Bernàcer’s film Eixam, is also in the running for Best Original Song at the Lola Gaos Awards.
After taking her second album, Robina, to more than a hundred stages and making a meteoric appearance on TVE’s La Revuelta, the singer from Oliva is experiencing one of the best moments of her career. She has also collaborated on La Gossa Sorda’s tour and on Sienna’s new album, and is already preparing new material for 2027. Throughout it all, her hypnotic voice remains her hallmark, continuing to leave critics and audiences open-mouthed.
Robina is a refuge and a rebirth. Inspired by the ruby, the precious gemstone, it becomes a self-portrait. It is a beautiful work divided into three parts: heartbreak, emptiness and falling in love (with oneself). This journey can apply to love or to any life process we go through, or even to addiction. Because love is everything, and it is everywhere and in everything. In Robina, it has a soundtrack that shifts between traditional and electronic sounds.
A project that breaks with every cliché and belongs to a new generation of artists who see tradition as the best tool for innovation today, and for making traditional music once again the most popular music of all.
