CERVATANA

CERVATANA is a new musical project launched by several members of Derby Motoreta’s Burrito Kachimba — Miguel on vocals and bass, Jose on synths and keyboards, and Punky on synths, guitar and vocals — born out of friendship and a desire to explore new sonic frontiers. Their sound blends krautrock, techno, ambient and big beat into a conceptual journey that emerges from the south of the Iberian Peninsula while looking firmly towards the future.

The project takes shape through intense sessions between Mérida, Guadalcanal and Seville, culminating in a conceptual album set for release in April. The album tells the story of a hybrid being — somewhere between human and artificial intelligence — who awakens on a devastated planet and embarks on an instinctive search. Its first preview, “Cap. IV: La Bomba”, serves as the album’s cornerstone and a statement of intent: an explosion of rhythm, epic scale and emotion.
