    Dialogues

    Diálogos: Hector Fuertes

In this episode of Diálogos, we meet Héctor Fuertes, a performing artist and dancer currently on tour with Judeline. Héctor explores the balance between physical strain and emotional release, delivering cathartic performances that leave a lasting impact. He shares his creative process—grounded in improvisation, imagination, and collaboration—and how he has developed onstage synergy with Lara through constant communication and mutual trust. He also reflects on the challenges of protecting choreographic work in the digital age and questions the effects of platforms like TikTok on artistic integrity and visibility. This conversation opens a window into the vital role of movement in today’s music landscape. It highlights the importance of embracing live performance, valuing dance as a central art form, and creating space for performers who bring depth and narrative to contemporary music experiences.

    Diálogos: Maria Arnal

    Creation and musical performance

In this Encounters episode, artist María Arnal delves into the creative process behind Ama, her first solo show, born from a deep exploration of voice, sound, and cutting-edge technology. Collaborating with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, Arnal has developed a way to clone her own voice using AI, crafting a new instrument through a careful and artisanal approach. The conversation focuses on the creative potential of artificial intelligence when approached critically and responsibly. Rather than relying on massive AI models, Arnal emphasizes the importance of understanding how these tools work and using them to enhance, not replace, artistic identity. In Ama, this vision extends to the stage, where she incorporates a digital instrument that allows dancers' movements to modulate her cloned voice, creating an immersive and multisensory performance. This reflection invites us to reconsider the creative possibilities that emerge from the intersection of art and technology. Projects like this support artistic research, encourage critical thinking, and pave the way for innovative creations where experimentation and expression go hand in hand.

Diálogos: Elniko Arias, Daniela Arias, Juancho Valencia

    Creation and musical performance

In this episode of Diálogos, music journalist Luisa Piñeros dives into the creative journey behind El Barbero, the debut album by Elniko Arias, one of the most promising new voices in Latin America's urban music scene. Joining him are Daniela Arias, label manager at Warner Music, and acclaimed producer Juancho Valencia, forming a dynamic trio rooted in experience, vision, and community. Their conversation touches on the role of the neighborhood as a source of inspiration, Medellín’s evolution as a hub for urban music, and the value of building artistic projects beyond industry formulas and digital trends. They also discuss the importance of embracing slow creative processes and trusting in artistic identity over instant success. This episode invites us to view music as a space for resistance, authenticity, and imagination. In a world of constant noise, El Barbero offers a moment to pause, reflect, and tell stories with honesty and depth.

    Mikel Escobar en BIME Bogotá

    Creation and musical performance

    Creation and musical performance

Diálogos El DavidAguilar y Calequi y Las Panteras

    Creation and musical performance

When music becomes a space for genuine connection, unexpected and powerful collaborations can emerge. That’s exactly what happened when Calequi y Las Panteras joined forces with El David Aguilar in a BIME Session that defied expectations. What began as an uncertain and slightly uncomfortable encounter quickly evolved into a celebration of creative openness, mutual respect, and the magic of letting oneself be surprised. The result: a vibrant, authentic musical piece that speaks to the power of real connection beyond genres. This episode illustrates how music serves as a bridge for building community within the industry. Through empathy, active listening, and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones, the artists show that collaboration goes beyond blending styles — it’s about sharing process, exchanging knowledge, and opening doors to new creative perspectives. Their "happy alliance" stands as proof that authentic, cross-genre collaborations can generate projects with depth, reach, and lasting impact. The experience of Calequi and El David Aguilar reminds us that collaboration not only enriches the final artistic output, but also strengthens the human and professional ties within the music industry. In an increasingly digital and individualistic environment, these creative encounters inspire us to reclaim collective creation, dialogue, and mutual growth as essential pillars for artistic and community development.

    Conversations: Loquillo

    Creation and musical performance

Few artists have managed to span generations while maintaining such a distinct voice as Loquillo. In this intimate and revealing conversation, the iconic Spanish musician reflects on the defining moments of his career and offers insight into his latest project: an anthology celebrating three decades of music, rebellion, and poetry. His story is a masterclass in artistic consistency, craftsmanship, and passion. This episode dives into the creative process at its core: building a musical identity over time, embracing reinvention as a form of resistance, and staying true to a personal artistic vision. From raw street rock to poetic compositions, Loquillo shows that creativity is about constant reinterpretation — taking risks and defying labels. His journey illustrates how a body of work can evolve while remaining grounded in its essence. One of the most powerful takeaways from this conversation is the celebration of creation as a long-term journey. In a fast-paced industry, Loquillo reminds us that a strong artistic career is built over time, with commitment and a voice that evolves without giving in to trends. A vital reflection for those who see music as a vehicle for deep, honest, and lasting expression.

    Dialogues

    Diálogos: Villano Antillano

    Creation and musical performance

Villano Antillano is one of the most influential and groundbreaking voices in today’s Latin urban scene. Hailing from Puerto Rico, this queer artist is challenging the norms of the genre with a creative approach that blends sharp lyricism, political storytelling, and a bold visual identity. With over 270 million views on YouTube, her impact goes beyond music to become a cultural statement. Her latest album, Miss Misogynie, stands as a rebellious manifesto that celebrates the legacy of women in rap while reshaping the rules of the game. For Villano, music is more than sound — it’s a creative battleground. Her process reveals the inner tensions of being an independent artist navigating an industry driven by algorithms, performance metrics, and commercial expectations. In response, she doubles down on authenticity and creates work that prioritizes message, identity, and expressive freedom. Her journey is a powerful example of how artistic creation can drive social change within the music industry. From self-publishing to digital space-making, Villano is redefining what it means to be a professional artist today. This BIME episode offers a deep dive into the present and future of Latin urban music — through the lens of a creator who refuses to fit the mold.
