Diálogos: Cala Vento

In this episode of Diálogos, we speak with Cala Vento, a duo that has proven it's possible to grow within the music industry through self-management. Beyond releasing their own music through their label Montgrí, they share how this independence has shaped their creative freedom and their way of understanding artistic decisions — from managing the label to building relationships with other artists. Throughout the conversation, they reflect on the identity of their project, the challenges of being just two people on stage, and the decisions that led them to celebrate ten years of career with a new album of cover songs — conceived as a gift to themselves and a synthesis of their sonic universe. They also discuss the balance between creative and administrative roles, as well as the real meaning of taking a break in the middle of an intense tour. This conversation offers an honest glimpse into what it means to inhabit today’s musical ecosystem without giving up on your vision. A testament to creative resistance that raises questions around management models, artistic sustainability, and the need to pause in order to move forward.
